Adding colour to Bahrain culture.

A RECEPTION and an art exhibition was held in Davos, Switzerland, by the Economic Development Board (EDB) and its leading business partners, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The exhibition features works by contemporary Bahrain artists, depicting the kingdom's culture.

It included works by Interior Ministry's Nationality, Passports and Residence Under-Secretary Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, who is honorary president of the Bahrain Arts Society.

Works by artists Omar al Rashid, Abdul Raheem Sharif and Balqees Fakhro were on display.

The event was attended by Crown Prince and EDB chairman Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, along with Arab League Secretary-General Amr Mousa, Britain's Duke of York Prince Andrew, chief executive officers of international firms and WEF participants.

The art works were all sold, with parts of the proceeds going to the Children of Iraq Fund.

Other organisers, who partnered with EDB, include Investcorp, Taib Bank, Shamil Bank, Batelco, Gulf Air, Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding, Bapco, and Aluminum Bahrain.
